Mya 💗  –  Janet G

The story of Mya...... She had been living on the streets with no place to call home. Scrounging each meal and trying to stay warm. She was brought to our shelter and we fell in love with her but finding her forever home was taking longer than we thought. She was approx 5 years old and she was repeatedly passed by for a puppy or younger dog. 😢 We were invited to attend an adoptathon at our local Subaru dealer Thomas Subaru and that was going to be Mya’s day to shine! And Shine she did!!⭐️ She was so excited to go for a car ride and strut her stuff at the event. She made lots of friends that day and captured the heart of a family that had come out to the event to meet the available dogs for adoption. Thomas Subaru’s adoptathon gave Bedford County Humane Society the opportunity to showcase our dogs and find Mya her forever home!! Thank you Thomas Subaru for hosting an awesome day for us to show off our dogs and cats waiting for their furever homes! Your continued support is greatly appreciated!!! Sincerely, Bedford County Humane Society & Mya!!💗😘

Thomas Subaru staff members Cheyanne Claar (Internet Sales Consultant) and Clifford Cogan (Subaru Service Advisor) delivered the items to UPMC Senior Practice Manager Clinton Dull, who passed out the gifts to patients later that day. Hospital staff were surprised and delighted to receive the donation. One staff member talked about why he already was a fan of Subaru: years ago, when his car broke down in front of a Subaru dealership, the sales team helped to push his car onto the lot and got him in a new Subaru that very day. Knowing how happy the blankets and craft kits would make the patients, though, showed him that Subaru and their retailers truly believe in making a positive impact in the community. The dealership was inspired to participate in this program, which partners with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) on the deliveries, after a Thomas Subaru staff member lost a friend to blood cancer. She saw first-hand how his passing not only affected his family and friends, but had a ripple effect throughout his community.Thank you, Thomas Subaru, for partnering with LLS and UPMC Bedford Memorial for this donation.
